The Make

The Everyday Hoodie

400 GSM, brushed inside, double-layer hood, and a wordmark you have to be close to read. Why the details are where they are.

Most hoodies are 280 to 320 GSM. Ours is 400, which is heavy enough that the garment holds a line instead of collapsing at the shoulder. It is also the reason the first wear feels structured and the twentieth feels like nothing at all.

The blend is 80% cotton, 20% polyester. Cotton for the hand-feel and the way it takes colour; polyester so the body keeps its shape through a household's worth of laundry rather than one careful owner's.

The hood is cut in two layers and left unlined. That is more fabric than the category expects and the single most expensive decision in the piece — it is also the only reason a hood ever stands up on its own.

The wordmark runs vertically down the left sleeve, embroidered tone on tone. Close up it is unmistakable. From across a room it is a texture. We would rather be recognised by people who already know than shout at people who do not.
